Are you looking for a job? here is some of stories which is based on my personal story when i was applying for a job and how to avoid red flags.
Rushed Phone Interview
One day, there is a company calls my phone number then I take the call to found that there are mistakes such as:
- Declare Salary as the first topic and it is not negotiable
- No User Reviews available
- Their office are 30 kilometers from my home which means estimation 1–2 hour time required
Based on the phone interview, we can safely conclude that one of their employees suddenly resigned or stopped working either because of the employee itself or the company itself. So they want to hire a new one as soon as possible, with a low salary they can offer.
In the end, I decided to reject their proposal.
Disappointing Interview
Several weeks later I received the email about the interview, then I decided to attend the interview because I researched the company and it seems a famous company with both a good career prospect and a standard salary.
The interview is going smoothly and then a week later, they call again to ask me to discuss work contract and salary but unfortunately, I found out that :
- When we are in the interview session to discuss salary and working system, then Head of HRD receive news about applicant reschedule by phone and are complaining about it and sighing in front of me
- Head of HRD also playing with her phone while I was discussing a working system of their company, she seems not interested in my question.
- The company actually has Unfair Treatment, High Turnover, 2-year Contract-Based with the severe penalty and no probation
after a lot of considerations, I decided to decline their offer.
Tips and Trick for Jobseekers :
- Check Company Review on Forum or Job Portal because most of the information is accurate and based on former or current employees of the company.
- If Condition is highly unfavorable, don’t apply for those jobs or decline offer if given. because you will regret working with a company that you already hate to begin with.
